Today's Exercise
I've been one of the gym's best customers lately. You know, paying for membership just not going. So with that in mind I rocked up today and performed
- one set on each upper body part.
- 10,000 steps in the AM 15,200 in total
- 3pm(ish) 3 sets of 10 lengths of a cricket pitch (see above) - best time 1.09
Two Week Plan
Ok then. I've got two weeks off from work. The plan is to get some decent exercise in, knock over my assaignments from work and get some decent sleep. My old man found out that i've got some time off and wouldn't you know it? He's chucking a new kitchen in and I can give him a hand. Lucky me. With any luck that shouldn't interfere with my plans.

Day Thirty
Bloody work interfering with my weight loss :-(
Ok here's the score
- 97kg = Loss of 2.8 kg
- 25.3% Body Fat = Loss of 1.2%
- 52.6 Body Water = Gain of 0.7% Body Water
- 31.7 BMI = Loss of 0.6 BMI
To be honest I'm not to concerned that the scales are higher than my lowest reading of 95.4kg. Why? Well fluctuations are a fact of life. Today before weigh in I'd done 10,000 steps, pumped some iron and drank a protein drink and some water.

Day Twenty Six
95.4kg
I've got today off which is really great. I had a private boxing lesson this morning and I had been really looking forward to it. No slacking off with Jo-Jo busting your hump. Boy was it a tough workout again. I had two set's of interval running. That really killed me. Then I had two rounds of alternating punching and calisthetics (30 sec then swap). I was stuffed.
I'm also looking forward to the next two weeks off from work. I've got some assaignments to catch up on and I want to also focus on my boxing (umm I'm getting a sense of dejevu)
Yesterday was my "sleep day" . That meant that I'd worked until 7am and the rest of the day is counted as a day off for some f#$king reason. And they wonder why no-one wants to do them? Anyhow yesterday all I did was sleep, watch an anti NWO movie, and thought about getting some exercise (that counts doesn't it?).
I chucked my stat's up on Excel and worked out that my title was wrong - I originally had "day twenty two" as the title :-)
I worked out my BMI - I've gone from 32.36 down to .... wait for it..... 31.15 - On the cusp of going sub 31 !!!! Yeah me!
Any how I hope you're reaching your weight loss / fitness goals as well.

Day whatever *again*
Image hijacked from here
Working a string of nightshifts. Am really run down. If anyone's got any tips on coping with nightshifts I'd be very gratefull.
On the positive side quite a few people at work are working off their extra kilo's as well. I think it may be linked to the Biggest Loser starting back on Telly. I like elimination time. Not to see people get booted but rather see the booted person kick arse by losing weight at home. Very motivational.
Got two weeks off coming up. I'll be hitting the boxing gym hard. With any luck that'll get me back on track training regularly again. I've been using work as an excuse for not training which we all know is a poor excuse.

Day whatever
Image stolen from here - BTW I've wanted a boxer for well over a decade
96.7kg
96.7kg
What can I say? Been sick the past couple of days and haven't done any training. On top of that my diet has been off track. The good thing is that I've picked up on the weight gain early.
Right - First thing tomorow morning it's time for some cardio.

Day Seventeen
96.1kg
Have gone back to training at my local boxing gym. Well today was my first day back and bloody hell i've let my fitness slide. I've just gotten back and i'm almost physically sick it was such a tough work out.
I'm real happy with my how my weight loss is going. I've got real high hopes that the rate will increase now that I'm back in training.

Thoughts on weigh-in
Think about what you eat and drink each day. Each glass of water, every healthy tuna and garden salad and every piece of fruit weighs something. I hate to talk about it in a round about way but everything that goes in must come out. So if you jump on the scales in the afternoon you might get a bit dirty that you're not losing weight, indeed you may well have put it on! My weight fluctuates upto about 3kg. I really keep the fluids (water) up and this really can add to the numbers on the scales.
Another consideration is what you are wearing when you weigh yourself. Your clothes aren't weight free don't you know? Consider the difference in the scale weight if you are wearing boots as opposed to light weight runners. It does matter what your wearing.
So what's the best option Defib? You seem to be so smart about these things. Thanks for acknowledging my incredible intelect. My weigh in routine is to jump on the scales after a good nights sleep, after i've been to the loo and before i've had anything to drink or eat and before you chuck on your clothes. The "after a good nights sleep" counts out the day I return after night shift but problems are there to be overcome.
One last piece of advice. Use the same scales. Sure they might not be accurate but at the end of the day it's not the number that counts during your journey to a healthier weight but rather it's the fact that the number is decreasing.

Day Fifteen
13000 steps - Got home after a long night shift and went for a quick jog. I'm not really fit so it was a short jog with a long walk :-P I've somehow injured my shoulder which ticks me off
96.8kg

Day Fourteen
Well two weeks came pretty quick. Now i've been far from hard core in my training. Toughen up Princess is a call to action for me. Bad / Lazy habits are hard to break. Going from zero to hero doesn't happen over night. On top of that the shift work makes a routine hard to follow, a sport hard to get involved in and knocks me around physically.
So - Whats the score after two weeks? - 97kg (-2.8kg)

Day Twelve
Had a crappy nights sleep and spent today all run down. I knocked out 10,000 steps and ate pretty good.

Day Eleven
97.5kg (-2.3kg)
Can you believe it? 97.5kg I had to pinch myself. Not that I had to try hard to find a roll of fat - LOL.
I'm doing far better than I thought i'd have done. You might say "Hey Defib - you gotta be happy with that". And I'd reply "You're damn right I am." :-D

Day Ten
97.9 kg (-1.9kg)
Feeling real good. I haven't been sub 98 kilograms in a long time. At this rate my initial goal of 95kg looks like it'll happen soon.
Just finished a run of night shifts. They really knock me about but at least not as bad as they do my mate. He gets physically sick which really sucks.
So i've done sweet FA exercise. Pretty disapointed with myself. But at least my diet's been pretty good. Been drinking plenty of water, avoided pop and eaten pretty healthy.
Exercise for the Day
- 14k + steps
- Climb that freaking mountain again (hey I didn't feel like vomiting this time and that has to be a good thing)
The climb was a lot easier. It still tested me mentally and physically and it was far from a push over but a lot easier than last time. Up and back (not including rest at the top) 53 minutes 06 seconds.

Day Seven

98.6 Kg ( -1.2kg)
This despite a can of coke and lack of exercise :-)
My pedometer averaged about 5-6,000 steps the last two days.
